27/02/08 - Moyers focused after FPA test
Silverstone-based racer Michael Moyers has focused his sights on landing
the Formula Palmer Audi
Championship in 2008.
After testing the FPA car for the first time in more than two years
at Bedford Autodrome this week, the
24
year old revealed that he
firmly believes that he has everything right to secure the title
in his first
season
in the championship.
After two seasons racing in the Formula BMW UK Championship, he has
opted to move to FPA and in
severe winds at Bedford was able to post
highly competitive lap times, without ever really pushing himself
or the car to the limit.
Speaking about the day, Michael said “when I arrived this morning, I knew that the wind was going to
make things tricky, but the instructors told me that if I could manage
a late 66 second lap, I’d be on the
pace with one of last season’s
race winners who’d tested here in similar conditions last week. I eased
myself into things, learned a lot from the data during the
break between sessions and made a point of
not using the circuit's
wide concrete run-offs to give false lap times.
