Moyers upbeat after Brands Hatch weekend
(continued)
Watched by representatives and guests from sponsors
Building Services Design, Westhall Estates and
Casini Systems, the
Hyperion mechanics worked feverishly and beat the deadline for race
2 by a mere
15 seconds. Casini MD Charles Julian commented "not only
did we get to witness two great races
on-track, but we also saw a
fascinating one in the Paddock as the team battled against the clock
getting
the car ready for the second race. It was a truly memorable
- and thoroughly enjoyable - day, which is
much to the credit of
Michael, the team, Karbon Racing and the Formula BMW UK Championship,
and is
one that will live long in the minds of Casini and our guests
who were here with us today."
Moyers added: "Obviously, it's disappointing
to come away with two DNF's, but while the other drivers
just had
the problem of re-learning Brands after their visit here at the start
of the year, I had to
overcome a huge deficit in terms of seat time
- particularly having never driven this car in the wet -
aswell as
learning the circuit. My lap-time improvement over the course of
the weekend has started to
show what I'm all about and I can't wait
to get up to Knockhill in a few weeks time and then out to
Valencia
so I can do justice to the car Hyperion have given me. Having missed
pre-season testing and
only having raced at one previous meeting,
I could easily have been far more than six tenths off the
pace, so
I think it's credit to the team and also a demonstration of my ability
that I got as close as I
was. I feel that with every lap I get under
my belt, I'm getting closer and closer to the guys at the front
and
I hope I can show that for the remainder of the season. I'd like
to thank my sponsors and all their
guests for coming down and showing
such fantastic support for me this weekend and I hope they will
take
away some great memories."
