19/10/06 - Moyers
set for Superlights debut.
Silverstone-based Michael Moyers has confirmed that he will be racing
a Caterham Superlight this
weekend for Hyperion Motorsport.
Moyers is preparing to make his debut in the Caterham Superlights class
at the Formula Ford
Festival. Following impressive tests for the Hyperion team at Snetterton
a fortnight ago and again
this week at Brands Hatch the chances of the youngster claiming a podium
finish in either race is
a distinct possibility.
Whatever happens, he will certainly be in the right car: Hyperion Motorsport
have a hugely
impressive pedigree and have maintained that reputation this season by
winning the 2006 British
Caterham Superlight Challenge, the 2006 European Cosworth Caterham Masters
Championship in
France last Saturday and are also the 2006 Caterham Eurocup Roadsport
Champions. With honours
still to be decided in the Caterham Superlight Team Championship at Brands
Hatch this weekend.
Hyperion Team Manager Steve Hindle commented; “Michael has been
very quick in testing and we
have high hopes for him this weekend. It’ll be the first time he’s
raced one of these cars and
they’re very different to what he’s used to. He’s adapted
well but there are some very, very good
drivers in this Championship. I’m hopeful though that he can help
us clinch the championship with
a finish at the sharp end and if all goes well he could find himself
on the podium.”
