Moyers confident of success in Walter Hayes Trophy
Former BRDC Single-Seater
Champion and Formula BMW racer Michael Moyers will be competing in
this
year’s Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone on 1st November. The prestigious
event is seen as a very
important race to many up and coming drivers and each year attracts drivers
from various backgrounds.
These often include young rising stars and current drivers racing at a very
high level around the world
trying to get to the next level.
Michael will be competing
in a Van Diemen RF87 run by his Dad, Pete, who has been a race car
mechanic
for many years and has worked with drivers such as Eddie Irvine and Gil de
Ferran.
Interest in this year’s
event has soared and Michael is delighted to announce he will be
sponsored by
local firms GLN Landscapes and The Bull in Towcester. Most
recently Michael has completed a deal
with Lifestyle Automotive who specialise in rare but affordable sportscars
and will be making a big push
on launching the new Mastretta Sportscar in spring 2010.
Matt Gamble of GLN Landscapes
said, “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Michael
and will
be focused on promoting our recently launched website, www.glnlandscapes.co.uk”
The Bull, a popular
pub on the Brackley Road in Towcester, has until now never been involved
in
motorsport sponsorship and owner, Martin Johnson, is excited about the deal
and proud to be seen
supporting a local sporting star. He said, “I have been involved in youth
football for many years and
know how much sponsorship can help, and also how difficult it can be to find.
It is nice to be in a position
to help Michael and I look forward to our first steps into motorsport sponsorship”.
