17/11/08 - Ginetta G50
test for Moyers
Michael Moyers has continued his winter testing
programme with an outing in a Ginetta G50.
Silverstone-based Moyers tested with the
Xero team at Donington Park this week as he looks to make a
decision on which championship he’ll be racing in for 2009.
On a cold day at the Derbyshire circuit, the team
were running the car with the new 2009 spec rear wing
for the first time. This was a perfect opportunity for Michael, as he was able
to utilise his experience
in providing accurate feedback to the team. Despite a drying track, the air
temperature made it difficult
to generate good heat in the tyres, but Moyers found it “an easy car
to jump into and it really filled me
with confidence”.
After a couple of 7 lap stints the team, on the
basis of Moyers’ feedback, started making a few changes
to the car and he found it responding very well to the alterations. Michael
commented: “I could really feel
the difference the changes had made. As I became more and more confident, I
started pushing the car
quite hard and my final stint of 10 laps felt really good as I managed to get
into a nice rhythm and my
lap times were dropping consistently.”
